It’s been awhile since we brought you an alt.news update, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been doing anything. Quite the opposite, in fact: we’ve been staying busy producing alternative content and putting episodes together (we will have finished three episodes by the end of this month alone!) You can blame the hiatus on us being so busy if you’d like, or maybe it was because we were so graciously given a break from school for the holidays. Or both. But at any rate, here is an update!
First and foremost, we completed our music episode, Distortion 415! We’ll be featuring the musical talents of such bands as Capital Cities, Motion City Soundtrack, AFI, The Reign of Kindo, and The 1975. It’s an episode you won’t want to miss, so tune in to WSIU on Saturday, January 25th, at 11:30 p.m. to watch it! Or come back here the next day! We post our episodes online the day after they air (clarification: the day after could mean the very next day or a few days after that depending on how forgetful our webmaster is).
In addition to Distortion, we’ve put together an episode packed with content to submit to the College Television Awards! Wish us luck!
Now for new content!
We will be bringing you a commercial for Fall Breakers; an action-packed, wild, insane film from the audience of Spring Breakers. Faaaaall breaaaak forever.
Speaking of breaks, over the holiday vacation we shot two new segments! We visited the little town of Sabula, Iowa, for some delicious wood-fire pizza at the bohemian Bombfire Pizza. Then, we went to the Museum of Mourning Photography in Chicago, Illinois, where we explored a seemingly macabre area of photo history: post-mortem photography.
We have many more ideas in the works, and many more episodes to bring to your TV sets, so keep tuning in!
